with great sadness we have to announce that the 2009
RAF Portreath Motor Sprint has been cancelled.
Changes
at RAF Portreath have made it difficult to
organise this year’s event. Rather than
disappoint everyone with a poor event we have
taken the decision to ‘fall back and
regroup’. We are all disappointed as the
event last year was a huge success.
Fastest
times 2008
For
those who haven’t seen the posts we paid one
hundred pounds to the fastest riders of each day.
Saturday
– Bike 132 Mark Fava, Truro – 142mph at
9.7 seconds
Sunday – Bike 510 Dillon – 145 mph at
9.5 seconds
Children’s
Hospice South West
In
addition we were able to donate a substantial sum
to Children’s Hospice South West. Thanks to
the massive attendance we were able to present
them with a cheque for FOUR THOUSAND POUNDS!
What
about the future?
We
very much hope to be back on the case for next
year with a bigger and better event. We are
already in discussion. We’ll let you all
know as soon as we can.
Lastly
we would all like to thank you for your support
over the last couple of years. With the support
of the entrants, traders, spectators and
volunteers we have shown what can be done.
We
